Identifying the correct VOIP service providers

Sick of paying extra for an ordinary calling service I finally decided to give VOIP service providers a try. I used to come across them every day; we had already switched to internet phones in our office and I was pretty happy with the service I was getting. So I finally decided to switch. But selecting the appropriate VOIP service was not as easy as I had anticipated. There are many different companies providing internet phones in the market and to be honest I found all of them same. A friend of mine advised me on how to choose a particular VOIP service provider.

In this article I intend to enlighten all those who are suffering from the dilemma of choosing the correct service amongst numerous VOIP service providers. At first glance the differences between any of the calling packages are not obvious because all of them offer same cheap, good quality service which is filled with many features. But after understanding the basic concept of VOIP service providers and the ideology upon which their telephony was based it was easy understood how to tackle the head ache of selection of the correct Voice over internet service.

Whole internet telephony is based upon the principle of providing cheap communication to the people but some VOIP service provider in pursuit of increasing their customer base trick people by simply lowering their calling rates. Even though usually local calling rates provided by any company is merely in cents and same is the case with international calls. So to understand the standing of any VOIP service provider one needs to keep in mind the “technology” it provides to the users, because technology determines the depth in standing of the company. (Even though internet speed is something on your part but governance of communication is taken care by the internet service provider.)

Secondly the “voice quality” is to be tested because after all it’s all about calling, so voice quality needs to be checked before opting for any service. Many things can add up to poor voice quality but the most prime are of which fall in the part of the VOIP service provider because load on the network means interference in the communication and disruption of service. Another thing that should be kept in the middle of choosing any communication provider is “customer care and help line” what service is a service if it cannot take care of problems faced by any customer. Most good and reputed VOIP service provider have customer care help lines working round the clock 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

“Calling charges”  according to me, if the VOIP service provider is sound and stable enough to take care of the user then comes the rates it charges for a service which any other competitor is charging. A good VOIP is one with reasonable rates and stable service. And last but not the least comes “differentiating factor” by differentiating factor I mean some that gives a competitive edge it could be a service, a feature or something that might interest you.

Remember every service differs from the each other, so choose one that suites you the best.

Why is an internet phone service better?

VOIP, internet phones, internet phone services are all one and the same thing. Voice over internet protocol is a respectively new mode of communication which uses internet. Even though it is making a real name for itself but still the question that every fundamentalist would ask why switch to internet phone service when a perfectly good working age old telephone system exists. This article aims in making that point clear.

Telephones have been in our lives for generations; it has helped us over time in every possible situation and has never disappointed rather after every test it has grew and evolved into something better. Despite all their qualities they have been simply expensive; and this is where internet phone service is better than the latter.

Internet phone service is quickly replacing telephones, because it not only gives cheap communication but it has a service which equal to that of the traditional landlines. Filled with many extra features for which users had to pay extra previously. Before advent of internet phone service a person had to roughly pay around 30$ for a simply calling service and over 60$ per month for a service which has basic added features like voice mail and call filtering etc. but with internet phone service a user gets all features as a part of the parcel, for a minimal rate that is almost one-third of what they previously paid. Also they all can avail many extra features as an added incentive in their respective calling package.

Unlike traditional landlines Internet phone services provide wide variety of calling packages ranging from segment to segment and person to person. Every user can choose a package that is best for him, and enjoy some thing different. Unlike previously there is a wide range of choices for a user to choose from because there are number of companies giving almost same coverage and same service to the market; resulting in lower, cheaper and more competitive service.

With Internet phone services a user get most cheap international calling rates which are of an average of .02$ per minute all around the world. Long distance calling ahs been virtually revolutionized by VOIP telephony. Calling any loved one abroad is no longer a trouble.

The best feature of Internet phone service is the freedom that they offer freedom to choose your own device, freedom to choose any package and freedom to go any where having same number. All you need is an internet connection to stay connected. You can take the same number and take it to any place where you get a WIFI connection and you are up and ready to go. Internet phone services even provide virtual number facility with which by staying in one place you can avail the number of any other area code.

Though power shortage and lack of internet connection pose a threat to Internet phone services and is a hurdle in path of VOIP replacing traditional landlines completely but with time it will surely over come and evolve into a complete communication medium.
