Voice Quality Issues With VoIP Phone Services

The quality of the voice that we have on an efficient VoIP service is crystal clear but there can be times when there are issues with the quality of voice offered by the VoIP service. There is not just one single reason which is responsible for the quality of voice on internet phone. There can be multiple problems or one or two issues which may be responsible for poor call quality of your VoIP phone. Here are some of the important issues discussed which jeopardize your phone usage experience by distortion, noise and other disturbances in voice.
Internet connection speed
Internet phone is dependent on the speed of the internet connection. If you have a slower internet connection, your phone’s voice quality will suffer for sure. Internet connections vary in speed. Big VoIP services like Axvoice ensure that all their customers know in advance which kind of internet connection will suffice for them which would result in best phone performance. Always ask your VoIP provider about the type of connection which would be sufficient enough to seamlessly run their internet phone. Faster internet connection would mean greater speeds of data transfer and fewer troubles using your internet phone.
Multiple uses of internet
We all know that internet connections in our home are used for many purposes. One of those purposes is internet phone while there are many other uses. When we put one internet connection simultaneously to multiple uses then our internet connection bandwidth is distributed among different things running. This also affects the quality of your VoIP service. Therefore, always ensure that you have ample data transfer speed offered by your internet connection to even carry out multiple tasks without any hindrances.

Loss of data

There are times when the network crashes occur. This usually happens when the phone network whose phone service you are using starts getting more data that it can handle. Initially the data starts getting queued but when the overload keeps flowing in, the network crashes, which also results in poor voice quality. A reliable VoIP provider should be able to take care of that problem as well by improving the infrastructure and data handling capacity of its network rather compromising the phone call quality.

Poor VoIP hosting

Hosted VoIP solutions are provided by different internet phone services. Most of the businesses opt for hosted VoIP solutions to save cost. Many of these hosted VoIP solutions providers outsource their web hosting to third parties and most of these third part web hosts offer poor quality services with slow servers. This also results in decreased voice quality of the phone calls made.

VoIP phone settings

VoIP phone settings also play an important role in having great voice quality. Sometimes the internet phone has been set at a very poor voice quality which results in lower quality voice. The other reason for poor voice quality can be the mismatching of the internet connection speed with that of codec. Some VoIP phones automatically detect that settings while others need to be adjusted manually to work with a particular type and speed of internet connection.
